eCommerce Data Engineer

We are looking for a Lead eCommerce Data Engineer to drive the design, development, and implementation of data, BI, and analytics solutions. This includes business process analysis, database design, core data architecture, data process development, and report/dashboard creation. This senior role will manage projects from requirements to implementation and guide team activities toward achieving project goals. The ideal candidate is comfortable working autonomously and maintaining consistent communication with team members and senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data modeling and database design
• Data processing using SQL Server BI-stack architecture and development
• Query and performance analysis
• Requirements gathering and development, collaborating with business units, technology teams, and leadership

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in data/analytics development and architecture
• 5+ years in a development lead or mentoring role
• Advanced expertise in SQL Server Technologies: T-SQL, SSIS
• Recent experience in project management, database architecture, or a development lead role in data/analytics projects
• Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and analytics (big data, reports, data warehousing)
• Experience designing SQL Server databases, including physical storage and data architecture
• Knowledge of enterprise-level BI tools and dimensional modeling, including slowly changing dimensions
• Experience with big data and/or cloud-based enterprise data warehouses (preferred)
• Ability to evaluate and document organizational data needs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience in creating reports for management and executives
• Experience documenting complex data architectures
• Microsoft MCP (BI-related) Certification(s)
• Experience with Tableau Platform architecture and development
• Willingness to work outside of business hours for support and project needs
