BWXT is currently seeking early career Engineers for multiple positions!
The Engineer will provide Engineering support across various sections of the Operations department in the Nuclear Operations Group Lynchburg. Work areas include: Weld Processes, Powder Metallurgy, General Manufacturing, Machining, Assembly Operations, and Structural Design/Evaluations.
Job Description/Duties:
- Develops and delivers unique engineering solutions used in a nuclear manufacturing environment.
- Creates and updates drawings and procedures.
- Tracks, trends, and analyzes data from development efforts and production campaigns.
- Makes recommendations based upon analyzed data.
- Supports shop floor operations, resolves issues, and generates process improvement ideas.
- Frequent communication with customer counterparts on process and product related topics.
- Ensures compliance to contract specifications (contract, drawing, etc.).
- Utilizes Change Management Tools and Systems.
- Authors customer submittals to support component certifications.
- Prioritizes and coordinates multiple engineering activities.
- Performs process monitoring on applicable processes and products.
- Interprets contract and drawing requirements to create/modify Operating Procedures, Guidelines, Forms, and Programs.
- Participates in design, testing, analysis, project management, and procurement of materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must currently have or will have an Engineering or Physics Degree by May 2025. An ABET-accredited degree is preferred.
- Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
