Job Description

Fulcrum Technology Solutions, LLC. has an opening for an experienced Engineer to serve as a tier 3 escalation for the Network Operations Center group. This position is a critical role in supporting Fulcrum clients, and providing leadership for Fulcrum technical operations. The ideal candidate will have solid technical skills and a track record for leading small teams in a highly technical, process-driven environment. Our ideal candidate is logical and proactive, thinks through their activities and understands how their work contributes to Fulcrum’s value to the client.

Qualifications

Responsibilities :

1. Reporting daily metrics and status to Director of Managed Services
2. Serve as Tier 3 escalation for troubleshooting issues relating to network, firewall and server equipment (experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco networking, and hyper converged storage solutions a plus)
3. Work with our technical consultants to seamlessly integrate new clients into our Managed Services offerings
4. Monitor and maintain our SEIM
5. Identify and review potential new services that can be added to our Managed Services offerings and management toolset
6. Implement processes for monitoring/alerting, systems maintenance and change control
7. Ensure that up-to-date technical documentation exists for all Fulcrum services provided to our clients and take ownership for client reporting
8. Serve as Senior technical resource for NOC team
9. Train and develop junior engineers

Required Skills :

1. 5+ years of IT experience
2. Experience working in a managed service provider (MSP) or IT operations role
3. Strong experience working with RMM and PSA systems
4. Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to frequent change and be able to work a flexible schedule
5. Must have demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
6. Ability to interact with and effectively present information to employees, management and customers
7. Ability to coach and mentor employees

Technical Skills :

1. Strong Troubleshooting and response skills
2. Working understanding of Microsoft Server and virtualization technologies
3. Server OS knowledge – Windows (2008/2012/2016) and Linux (RHEL)
4. Desktop OS knowledge – Windows and Mac OS X
5. Experience with monitoring and patch management systems, like Labtech and Connectwise
6. Some knowledge of backup systems such as Datto, Axcient, Commvault etc.
7. Strong experience with firewalls, switches, and networking.

Education/Certifications :

1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
2. Any of the following are a plus:
3. Connectwise and Labtech training
4. CCNA
5. MCSE
6. Palo Alto certifications
7. VMware training and certifications
