SUMMARY
Partner Engineering and Science Inc is seeking an experienced Energy Engineer to serve as a senior technical resource for our energy and sustainability consulting team. The successful candidate will manage and mentor associates and oversee projects involving the analysis, verification, design, and implementation of energy efficiency solutions; building commissioning and retro-commissioning; green building certifications; and/or, ESG&R consulting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct level I, II, III energy audits per ASHRAE standards for multiple asset types including apartment, office, industrial, hospital, and retail;
  • Perform whole-building energy modeling of multiple asset types;
  • Perform commissioning and retro-commissioning for multiple asset types;
  • Develop best practices for energy audits reports, energy modeling, and project implementation;
  • Conduct feasibility analyses of renewable energy generation projects for real estate applications;
  • Manage a team of associates, energy engineers, and subcontractors; and,
  • Assist in the hiring and training of project managers and project engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering and at least 7+ years experience in the energy efficiency or, a Master's Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of related experience
  • Professional Engineer designation (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent analytical and management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of time
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
  • Experience conducting energy analyses of building systems, including HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, plumbing, renewable energy, and variable speed drive applications;
  • Thorough understanding of HVAC systems and their impact on energy efficiency recommendations
  • Knowledge of building automation systems, building envelope, and lighting systems;
  • Experience with designing, sizing, cost estimating, and implementation of energy efficiency projects;
  • Experience in commissioning and retro-commissioning of energy efficiency projects;
  • Experience using energy modeling programs such as eQuest, Energy Pro, Trace and/or Energy Plus;
  • Understanding of building maintenance and operation issues; and,
  • Ability to identify and apply for federal, state, and utility energy rebate and incentive programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to work outdoors and unconditioned mechanical rooms
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time both in and out of state
  • Position requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift.

COMPENSATION
This is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role $115,000 -$135,000 annually.
The pay scale for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note, the disclosed pay scale estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location where the position may be filled.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive bonus program which is dependent on various factors, including, but not limited to individual and organizational performance.
