Software Engineer

The Role:

L2L is on a mission to empower workers to manufacture better together. We are growing rapidly and are adding a Remote Software Engineer to our team. We are looking for a skilled software engineer to join our team to help us on a plethora of projects, all focused on connected distributed systems. This is a remote role with annual opportunities to collaborate in person.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain software applications using Python and Django deployed to AWS
2. Develop and maintain frontend web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/Typescript/Vue
3. Write and optimize PostgreSQL data queries
4. Validate, test, deploy, and maintain L2L’s Dispatch software
5. Work with cross-functional roles to ensure software meets business requirements
6. Collaborate daily with a team of software engineers
7. Excellent communication in written and verbal forms

Must Haves:

1. 3+ years of experience in software engineering
2. Experience with Python and a web framework such as Django (or ASP.NET, Rails, etc.)
3. Experience with web development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/Typescript
4. Experience with a modern front-end framework (Vue, React, Angular)
5. Experience with Postgres, MySql, or MS Sql queries, tuning, design
6. Open to collaborative engineering methods (pairing/mobbing)
7. Ability to work remotely full-time with minimal in-person contact
8. Self-starter who takes team ownership seriously
9. Unstoppable problem-solving skills
10. Craves customer interaction
11. Humble and quick to learn

Nice To Haves:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
2. Practical experience with test-driven development (TDD)
3. Extensive experience with collaborative engineering methods (pairing/mobbing)
4. Presentation, motivation, and leadership skills
