POSITION SUMMARY:

It is the primary responsibility of the Lead Engineer to supervise maintenance engineers and ensure all work scheduled is assigned and completed. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Downtown Grand Hotel and Casino policies, practices, and procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Receive materials that have been ordered from the warehouse and dock.
  • Organize and prioritize projects as they are requested.
  • Prepare take-offs and estimates for projects.
  • Complete all jobs as assigned by Management.
  • Oversee the completion of all work performed by maintenance engineers.
  • Advise manager of all work orders and/or projects currently being worked on, the scheduling of projects, and materials needed for such projects.
  • Maintain a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention.
  • Respond to hotel emergency calls, assist in expediting repairs to ensure guest and employee safety and comfort.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments.
  • Ensure all equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat, and orderly at all times.
  • Maintain knowledge of materials used by various technical trades in the department.
  • Order materials and parts as needed.
  • Input and follow up on calls in Nuvola.
  • Perform pre-shift when required.
  • Report unsatisfactory performance or conduct of engineers to department management.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably in a hotel or industrial complex property.
  • Formal fall protection and overall safety training.
  • Ability to perform with accuracy, attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Reliable and strong work ethics.
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Must be able to comprehend all information and documentation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Follow all safety procedures as established by the company.
