Java Developer

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our team. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting DTA Midrange applications using Java, SQL, XML, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. You will work on modifying existing software programs to address issues, improve performance, and ensure optimal functionality. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with Business Analysts, provide technical support to the business team, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of our systems.
Job Duties:

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot DTA Midrange applications code using Java, SQL, XML, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc.
• Update and modify program code to address issues, defects, and improve performance.
• Research, analyze, and document reports, batch processes, and web-based processes.
• Conduct unit testing of software applications to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to clarify needs and analyze requests for new systems/programs.
• Comply with agency standards and follow established procedures.
• Provide technical support and solutions for solving technical issues.
• Manage data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of Company and associate information.
• Provide production support, including investigating and addressing defects.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Eclipse, Oracle Toad, and Jira.
• Strong database expertise with SQL, Stored Procedures, Oracle, Unix Shell Scripting, and complex SQL tuning.
• Backend development experience using frameworks like Hibernate or JPA.
• Technical proficiency in Core Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlets, Struts, Web services, Spring, Hibernate, JavaScript, JQuery, SOAP, REST services, and AJAX.
• Ability to optimize all tiers of applications on JEE platform.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Creative thinking, up-to-date knowledge of industry software, and a professional approach to time management.
• Aptitude to learn new technology platforms as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in Agile application development.
• Familiarity with eligibility rules engine is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in solution design and hands-on development of web applications.
• Experience in the Health and Human Services domain is advantageous.
