Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Programming: Develop, program, and maintain control systems using Siemens PLCs (S7, TIA Portal, etc.) for various manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure all control systems and processes align with specifications, standards, and production methodologies.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with automated systems, ensuring minimal downtime and peak system efficiency.
  • System Integration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate new equipment and processes into existing manufacturing systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, reliability, and safety of control systems. Lead initiatives to implement improvements.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of control systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and code libraries.
  • Project Management: Lead or assist in the execution of automation projects, from initial concept through implementation and final commissioning.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all control systems meet industry safety standards and regulations, including ISO 13849 and safety protocols.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Controls Engineer in a manufacturing environment.


Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency with Siemens PLCs (S7, TIA Portal) and associated hardware/software.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Profibus.
  • Knowledge of HMI programming and integration.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and control panel design.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues.
  • Project Experience: Proven track record of leading or supporting automation projects in manufacturing settings.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other automation systems, such as Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with robotic systems (e.g., FANUC, ABB) is advantageous.
