Position Overview:
We are seeking skilled Cloud Engineers to join a dynamic team in Chantilly, VA. As a Cloud Engineer, you will collaborate with developers, testers, and security engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud-based applications in an AWS environment. You will play a critical role in optimizing infrastructure, enhancing application performance, and ensuring robust security measures.
Active security clearance with full scope polygraph required.
Responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to automate deployment and maintenance tasks.
    • Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
    • Support the development and debugging of applications in Java, Python, JavaScript, or Ruby on Linux platforms.
    • Manage and optimize relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and document databases (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr) including managed services like AWS RDS or OpenSearch.
    • Create monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure high availability and performance using tools such as Python or Bash scripts.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, utilizing Git-based workflows for version control and collaboration.
    • Participate in on-call pager rotation to provide operational support and incident resolution as needed.
Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with 3+ years of experience for senior level, 8+ years for expert level, or 13+ years for subject matter expert level.
    • Proven experience deploying and maintaining applications in AWS cloud environments.
    • Strong proficiency in writing infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar tools.
    • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
    • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Java, JavaScript, or Ruby.
    • Experience managing relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and document databases (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr).
    • Familiarity with Git and Agile methodologies for software development.
    • Active security clearance with full scope polygraph required.

Salary Range:
    • Senior Level : $155,000 - $180,000
    • Expert Level : $210,000 - $228,000
    • Subject Matter Expert Level : $250,000 - $265,000

Location & Details: Contractor site in Chantilly, VA. Flexible work hours with occasional pager rotation.
