How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

We have multiple openings for Senior Software Engineers in Atlanta, GA. Lead the development of operations-focused applications, including a web-based intelligence portal. Design, develop, and implement software products, from prototype to near-production levels. Execute product roadmaps in collaboration with Operations Analysis and Performance (OAP) analysts and the Operations Data Science group. Partner with IT and other business groups as necessary to support deployment and downstream product ionization and the deployment of applications, including working with product managers to plan ongoing sizing, technical design, development, and releases. Ensure best practices around product, Git, and Scrum. Responsible for the UML modelling of software architectures, experimenting around computing approaches on cloud infrastructure and refactoring sub optimal software modules. Support a team of PhD scientists in integrating their models in a performant, scalable way into decision support applications, and collaborate with and advise technical product owners on best practice-based approaches to developing large, analytical applications. Review data and solution architecture and overall solution designs for web, data, security, and deployment. Provide technical leadership to the business units, particularly business units that are partnered with OAP teams. Design high performance computing systems to support the Operations Decision Science Software Engineering Team's machine learning and optimization efforts. Design integrations and their tests, create data schema designs, and consult with other developers, cloud engineers, machine learning engineers, and optimization scientists regarding performance requirements. Mentor junior developers regarding coding, architecture, and the product development process. Support the Product Manager. Telecommuting is permitted up to two days per week.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, and Applied Science, or related field, and five years of experience with software development or related. In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering and Applied Science, or related field, and two years of experience with software development or related. States.
  • Software development processes including reviewing code, deploying to production systems, and working in an Agile framework;
  • AWS Cloud experience Programming Languages – Python or Java;Backend experience – web APIs;Frontend development – building user interfaces;Debugging and profiling web applications; and Architecting data flows for backend applications.

Airline industry experience is a plus
