Position: Senior UX Designer
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 Months with EXT
This position is for Client Core UX team. Looking for candidates with experience in retail, shop/booking experience preferably. Need to be strong in both .com and app as well as accessibility.

Manager Notes:

  • Strong UX, Looking for someone with 5 to 10 years experience in UX designing web and native mobile app.
  • Travel industry experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Figma and Sketch.
  • Innovative design approach and strong collaborator. Experience with creating micro interactions.
  • Strong mobile app experience.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Job Description:
  • The Senior Designer - UX will help lead the design and definition as a key contributor to Uniteds Core UX team, Travel MBT, responsible for integrating human-centered practices in unpacking and improving the digital customer experience across all stages of the travel journey.
  • The Core UX team supports defining Uniteds digital product strategy and providing the leadership to execute on that strategy with the help of cross-functional mission-based teams. We're looking for an empathic, passionate, curious designer who celebrates delivering high-quality solutions and thrives for innovation in a collaborative environment.
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Solid grasp of web design principles and a good understanding of front-end web technologies required.
  • Excellent understanding of user experience design for the Web, mobile, and touch devices required.
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with minimal supervision required.
  • Experience in writing detailed design specifications (IA, work flow, page functionality and layout, etc.), which technology developers use to build the product required.
  • Must be a self-starter that can create schedules and define scope of work even when there are no clear requirements and direction required.
  • Strong ability to communicate your design, defend your design decisions, and respond quickly to business needs required.
  • Proven ability to set the design direction for your projects and to collaborate with other designers working in the space required.
  • A team player who can easily adapt in a rapidly changing environment required.
