Backend Developer

K2 Integrity seeks a highly motivated remote Backend Developer to join our Financial Crimes Risk Management practice. You will play a pivotal role in combatting financial crime by leveraging advanced server coding techniques. Your expertise in Python and PySpark will be instrumental in developing innovative solutions to detect and prevent illicit activities across various financial crime typologies. Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain robust and efficient server-side code for our platforms.
2. Design, implement, and manage database systems to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
3. Build and maintain APIs to support front-end functionality and third-party integrations.
4. Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring high performance under increased loads.
5. Implement security and data protection solutions to safeguard sensitive information.
6. Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues in a timely and effective manner.
7. Ensure high standards of code quality, organization, and documentation.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
9. Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate best practices into our systems.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
2. Ability to work during Eastern Standard Time regular business hours.
3. Demonstrated programming skills with SAS, Spark, Python, PySpark, R or equivalent languages.
4. Demonstrated experience working with Anti-Financial Crime and Compliance technologies.
5. Strong working knowledge and familiarity with Palantir Foundry applications, products, and solutions.
6. 3+ years of experience in backend development in a fast-paced environment.
7. Proficiency in backend programming languages like Python, Node.js, etc.
8. Experience with database technologies and web service technologies.
9. Experience with API design, development and consumption.
10. Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
11. Strong understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
12. Server-side development experience.
13. Open-source or community contributions.
14. Knowledge of JIRA, Azure DevOps and other product management tools.
15. Understanding of RESTful API design principles.
16. Knowledge of security best practices for web and mobile applications.
17. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
18. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
