Job Requirements / Description
We are looking for a skilled and data-driven Growth Scientist to join our dynamic team. As a Growth Scientist, you will play a critical role in understanding user behavior, analyzing data, and developing strategies to drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in data science, a deep understanding of growth hacking principles, and the ability to translate insights into actionable growth strategies.
Responsibilities
- Database Design and Architecture: Design, develop, and implement database solutions, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide effective data storage solutions.
- SQL Development: Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Optimize SQL queries for performance and efficiency.
- ETL Process Development: Develop and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into the database. Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Data Modeling: Design and implement data models, considering business requirements and best practices. Maintain and update data dictionaries and metadata.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and conduct performance tuning to optimize query execution and overall database efficiency. Implement indexing and other strategies for performance improvement.
- Data Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data within the databases. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs, ETL processes, and data-related procedures. Provide training and documentation for junior data engineers as needed.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide effective solutions. Work closely with software developers to integrate databases into applications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Data/SQL Engineer, with a focus on database design and SQL development.
- Proficiency in SQL programming and relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Experience with ETL tools and processes.
- Strong understanding of data modeling principles and best practices.
- Experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
- Knowledge of data security measures and compliance standards.
- Excellent documentation skills with the ability to create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
