Responsibilities:
- Under supervision applies functional specifications and uses engineering tools to design digital mixed-signal, and embedded firmware design for product changes and new development.
- Uses software tools and applications to perform routine analysis to predict the performance of electronic circuits and identifies design improvements by evaluating results.
- Contributes to reliability analysis such as risk assessments and Failure Mode Effects Analysis by compiling and examining data.
- Identifies the testing requirement at a system level with an emphasis on complying with test standards and Halliburton’s Health, Safety, and Environment procedures.
- Contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by preparing Invention Disclosures and recognizing ideas that have Intellectual Property potential without disclosing confidential information.
- Coordinates with project leads to produce project deliverables by assessing input requirements and applying functional specifications.
- Develops relationships through excellent communication skills and acts as a key resource to provide innovative solutions.
- May participate in professional societies.
Skills:
- Knowledge of digital and embedded circuit and mixed-signal design fundamentals
- Design and analysis of signal conditioning circuits (filtering, gain)
- Signal Integrity analysis
- Subject matter expert in embedded firmware design w/o RTOS
- Design and analysis of data acquisition systems including A/D, D/A, high-speed Microcontrollers, Digital Signal Processors (DSP), FPGA, I/O communications (SPORT, CAN, SPI, I2C, RS485, RS232, Ethernet, etc.), volatile and non-volatile memory.
- Design and development of embedded firmware with DSP, ARM, Microcontrollers and FPGA.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in electrical/electronic engineering or similar discipline.
- 4 years of successful industrial experience in a similar environment.
Candidates having qualification that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher-level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.
