Join our team as an I&C Designer where you will team with highly skilled software programmers and controls engineers, working on projects from initial concepts, through full design and construction, to on-site commissioning to ensure fully operational facilities. In this role, you and an engineer will be responsible for the design of one-of-a-kind solutions using various types of control hardware and equipment and CAD and 3D modeling software. This position will provide you with an exciting opportunity to bring unique visions to life by creating drawing packages that will be used for installation and commissioning of equipment at multiple facilities around the world. The Power and Design section currently includes 5 talented designers working on many unique and challenging projects including quick turn-around projects ranging from a few hours to large multi-year projects with over 10,000 labor hours.
Primary Responsibilities
Leads in planning and drafting jobs and preparing drawing lists and coordinates job with engineers, detailers and checkers.
Solves engineering problems and develops designs using standard engineering practices.
Performs complex drafting assignments working from engineering computations, verbal instructions, or rough sketches.
Performs drawing checking to confirm accuracy and acceptability guided by company and/or client drafting standards/specifications, engineering computation and sketches.
Evaluates functional feasibility of design and its conference to specifications.
Prepares sketches to be drawn by others, helps maintain drafting standards, and performs training of new or less experienced drafting personnel.
Creates moderately complex designs with minimal engineering assistance
Performs other related duties as required

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Due to federal requirements for large portions of the assigned work, a US Citizenship is required for this position.
Certifications of two (2) years training from a vocational training school or two (2) years college with courses relevant to drafting or engineering principles and 5-10 years experience in design and drafting fields.
Associates degree in electrical, controls, or electronics engineering is a plus.
Requires knowledge in the use of AutoCAD and other drafting software and equipment and in the application of drafting principles.
Requires a general working knowledge of shop and field erection processes associated with electrical design.
Must have the ability to read and interpret electrical controls and instrumentation wiring diagrams, technical literature, and manufacturer’s specifications.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
Must have strong time management and organizational skills with ability to adapt to changing work environment.
