Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Dahlgren, VA. If you enjoy bringing forth new ideas, being innovative with software development and sustainment and working with a skilled team on leading edgework, we want you.
Software Engineer Responsibilities Include:
Coding weapon controls capabilities / functionalities for the improvement of existing system baselines and the integration of new technologies for future planned baselines
Proposing and demonstrating technical approaches in alignment with military standards and specifications
Debugging and conducting root cause analysis for system anomalies observed in fielded and development systems
Working within an Agile Scrum Team to ensure Sprint tasking objectives are met
Adhering to prescribed configuration management for all coding
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
Five (5) years of experience in software engineering applied to program development, modeling, and/or simulation.
Two (2) years of experience with Navy or Joint systems.
Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
Demonstrates understanding of technical aspects required to develop large complex software-intensive systems.
Proficient in software development using at least two (2) of the following: Windows, various Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat), C/C++ and Java programming languages.
Ability to write unit tests for Java and/or C++ user interfaces.
Willing to develop software using pair programming and swarming techniques under agile processes.
