We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team in Tucson, AZ. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and testing a wide range of electronic equipment, including advanced imaging systems, LIDAR equipment, SONAR systems, and motion control/pointing solutions. You will be involved in developing circuitry for electronic subsystems that support high-bandwidth, multi-channel electro-optic sensors and ensuring successful integration and testing to meet system requirements. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in building and integrating complex electro-optic systems. This is an exempt, non-supervisory, full-time role based in our Tucson, AZ office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed designs of circuit card and system electronics, including schematics, component selection, and layout requirements.
- Perform or assist with the layout of circuit cards and collaborate with vendors for fabrication and assembly.
- Lead the integration and testing of electronic subsystems to ensure they meet performance requirements.
- Provide project engineering leadership, ensuring that complex projects progress smoothly by solving issues and anticipating problems before they arise.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive the development and integration of advanced systems.
- Experience with FPGAs, embedded processors, and high-speed signal integrity is a plus.

Experiences and Background We Look For :
- 3+ years Electrical Engineering experience with BS/BA in Computer/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Hands on experience designing electronic circuitry and circuit card assemblies. Experience with high speed, impedance controlled, and low noise circuit boards is helpful
- Experience with FPGAs, microprocessors, power systems, and analog circuitry
- Demonstrated track record with high performance digital systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to produce professional documentation and presentations with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
Nice to Have:
- 5+ years Electrical Engineering experience with BS/BA in Computer/Electronic Engineering
- Experience with Altium Designer including schematic design and PCB layout
- Experience with Xilinx products and tool chain
- Software programming skills such as C/C++, Python, Matlab
- Current security clearance
The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $125,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.
