What You Will Do

As an Engineering Manager on the Security Innovations team, you will lead the development of our next generation Data Plane for Cisco's Hypershield solution. Your team will deliver network firewalling solutions to Cisco switches and appliances with data processing units (DPUs) and network processing units (NPUs). You will also work closely with our Chief Architect, Product Management, and Control Plane teams, defining the roadmap to meet market and customer expectations.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Ownership of the day-to-day activities of your team as they design, develop, and test features in feature-driven sprints.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment with key stakeholders on architecture, schedules, and deliverables.
• Deliver continuous feedback and performance reviews of engineers, with input from vertical leads and senior leadership.
• Track progress on projects and help engineers grow their project management skills.

Minimum Requirements for this Role:

• BA/BS Degree and 7+ years of experience in software development.
• 3+ years of experience in team management.
• 3+ years in cloud computing and network security.
• Foundations in networking including exposure to network stacks, packet processing, or network acceleration technologies.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Prior experience managing engineering team resources and activities, ensuring deliverables are met within scope and timelines.
• Experience building strong engineering teams while promoting a culture of innovation, performance, and execution.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineers globally, champion creative technical trends, drive decisions collaboratively, resolve conflicts, and ensure diligent follow-through.
• Experience collaborating with senior engineers, product management, senior management, and other multi-functional partners to define technical roadmaps and set strategies.
