Imaging Sensors provides advanced imaging solutions for a variety of customers, including the DoD, NASA, prime system integrators, and commercial customers. In the civilian space arena, Teledyne sensors are the most advanced sensors on board the Hubble space telescope, and they are also found on board the majority of NASA space probes and ground based telescopes. In the DoD arena, Teledyne sensors are integrated into several major systems for persistent surveillance, chemical detection, and target identification, among others.We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team! The Senior Quality Engineer ensures the quality, reliability and validity of Teledyne’s processes, procedures and Quality Management systems for Teledyne’s highly complex Quality Assurance department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assignedProgram Quality Engineering LeadPromotes program mission success by reducing technical and mission risksAbility to apply an engineered process over the life-cycle of a program to identify and mitigate design, production, test, and field support deficiencies that could impact overall mission successCreate, review, and update Aerospace & Space Program quality processes, work instructions, checklist, plans, and templates to ensure program successResponsible for Quality System updates and maintenance as it relates directly to Defense, Aerospace, and Space ProgramsAbility to perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concernsAssist Quality & Mission Assurance Director in establishing, implementing and maintaining the ISO 9001 / AS9100 certified quality management systemResponsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as Six Sigma, Kaizen lean methods, etc.Develop training material to build quality awareness within departmentInterface with Engineering and Operations to ensure data transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with quality approved dataSupport the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and program specific requirementsConduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actionsAnalyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaintsLead Material Review Board (MRB) meetings both internal and program levelAbility to identity, create, and closeout Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and Preventative Action Reports (PARs) to address non-conformities and opportunities for improvementCreate and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of receiving / outgoing quality functionsContinuously improve QA receiving inspection process and proceduresEnsure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actionsManage suppliers’ performance and conduct supplier quality auditsExperience with Lean and Six Sigma PrinciplesPreparation of Quality Reports and End Item Data Package (EIDP)Stay current and able to address GIDEP AlertsGuide and mentor less experienced Quality Engineers working on Aerospace & Space ProgramsWork with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for tracking and reporting of dataQualifications & CompetenciesTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:Quality Engineering experience with Defenses, Aerospace, and Space Programs.Active Security Clearance or ability to get a clearance.Experience using quality inspection tools and equipment.ISO 9001 and AS9100 QMS experience.
