Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or 2 year degree in Building or Construction; 4 years' experience in engineering and maintenance or a related professional area; technical training in HVAC/electrical/plumbing.
  • Current certification as required by Federal, State, or Local governing agents relevant to trade requirements (e.g., HVAC, pool operation, electrical).
  • Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, lift, carry, push, pull objects, and stand during the entire shift.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Core Work Activities:

  • Managing Property Operations and Engineering Budgets.
  • Supervises Engineering in the absence of the Director of Engineering.
  • Manage the physical plant, equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems.
  • Establish and maintain an effective rooms maintenance program.
  • Ensure compliance with Engineering departmental policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Manage department expenses and purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
  • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities in order to determine the type of work required.
  • Recommend or arrange for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment.
  • Supervises the day to day operations of Engineering.

Maintaining Property Standards:

  • Maintain accurate logs and records as required.
  • Plan, schedule, and evaluate preventative maintenance programs effectively.

Providing Exceptional Customer Service:

  • Handle guest problems and complaints efficiently.
  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality by exemplifying excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations.

Managing Profitability:

  • Establish priorities for total property maintenance needs.
  • Ensure ongoing communication in all areas of responsibility to align with business objectives.

Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities:

  • Recognize team members' contributions publicly and celebrate successes.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Ensure fair treatment of employees and strive for service performance improvement.
  • Provide feedback to employees based on service observations.
  • Oversee departmental and property emergency procedures execution by employees.
