Data Analyst/BI Developer

Location: NYC (midtown) or Chicago (Loop) - (WFH 3-4 days/week)

Summary

We focus on data-driven questions that matter to our business and can be solved through the application of data analysis, statistics, and computer programming. We develop insights through alternative datasets and analytical methods to help fill in gaps in our understanding of specific assets, markets, and macroeconomic themes. We leverage geospatial, demographic, and economic data, as well as advanced analytics to evaluate live real estate deals across sectors and geographies.

In other words, we sit at the intersection of quantitative and investment analysis. You will have the opportunity to work directly with our fellow portfolio companies and Blackstone. The ideal candidate is a data practitioner, who has experience working with diverse sets of structured and unstructured datasets. The individual needs to be passionate about the application of data science to drive business impact, and intellectually curious about solving real-world questions using data. Working for one of the world's largest owners of real estate, you will have the opportunity to raise the bar for physical asset investing.

What you'll be doing

1. Develop dashboards with BI tools (you can choose what you want to use) to help business leaders make more informed decisions
2. Identify opportunities that you see in the data, and provide recommendations to business leaders based on your analysis
3. Proactively take initiative to recommend projects that would better support the business
4. Perform due diligence and contribute to targeted research projects.
5. Build strong relationships with all teams across the business.
6. Develop a deep understanding of Multifamily investment, finance, and operations.
7. Expand our technology platform and data analysis processes.

Skills we're seeking

1. 1-5 years of professional experience with BI development using Power BI
2. Proficient with SQL and relational databases
3. Excellent communication skills

Nice to have experience

1. Experience working in financial services or real estate
2. Experience with R, PyData stack or other advanced analytics tools
3. Experience with Snowflake or other cloud-based DWs
4. Statistics or quantitative analysis background (education or professional)
