Cerebras has developed a radically new chip and system to dramatically accelerate deep learning applications. Our system runs training and inference workloads orders of magnitude faster than contemporary machines, fundamentally changing the way ML researchers work and pursue AI innovation.
We are innovating at every level of the stack – from chip, to microcode, to power delivery and cooling, to new algorithms and network architectures at the cutting edge of ML research. Our fully-integrated system delivers unprecedented performance because it is built from the ground up for deep learning workloads.
Our system team is experienced and innovative. They think far outside of the box, which inevitably leads to new mechanical, thermal, and electrical challenges: nobody in the world has direct experience with system bringup at wafer scale. We are therefore looking for an extraordinary individual with an outstanding track record for debugging and solving problems. This 'MacGyver' must have solved several unexpected problems. This position has an electrical focus, but all team members are required to learn all aspects of the hardware when needed: Electrical, mechanical, and thermal.
Responsibilities
- Quickly get up to speed on electrical, thermal, and mechanical aspects of the design
- Study failure signatures of the systems and do hands-on troubleshooting
- Pursue failure analysis down to silicon, PCB boards or external components
- Analyze and document results and provide recommendations
- Interface with internal groups (SoC, systems and mfg) as well as outside vendors
- Participate in design reviews for next generation systems and provide your recommendations on anything from electrical design-for-test features to mechanical and thermal ideas that can enhance future products
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Strong drive to self-educate
- Experience with oscilloscopes
- Scripting, preferably Python
Preferred
- Experience with FA techniques such as cross section, SEM, X-ray
- Experience with electrical schematics and board layouts
- Familiarity with PCB design and assembly processes, e.g. PCB surface finishes, convection reflow, and solder properties
- Familiarity with Linux
