Software Engineer, Perception ML Systems

We’re searching for a Software Engineer to join Aurora’s Perception Performance and Coverage team . The team is responsible for metrics for evaluating the performance of the Perception subsystem, infrastructure for the evaluation pipelines, tools to introspect results and building a diverse dataset on which to measure performance.

In this role, you will

• Accelerate model development and improve autonomy capabilities via advanced systems and algorithmic development
• Design, implement, test, and maintain dynamic and interactive autonomy subsystem evaluation frameworks
• Create large-scale data analysis tools to discover changes in Autonomy behavior
• Measure the impact of autonomy code changes for interesting cases
• Modify software involving mathematical concepts and scientific measurements

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of industry experience programming and design software in Python
• Strong analytical skills
• Comfort working on large codebases and software systems
• Strong software development background demonstrated by industry experience
• Great collaboration and communication skills

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience programming in a deep learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, Tensorflow)
• Experience programming in C / C++ (strongly preferred)
• Experience with distributed data analysis tools
• Familiarity with visualization libraries for 3D geometries and interactive visualization (e.g., 3db, matplotlib, bokeh)

The base salary range for this position is $168,000 - $252,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
