Senior Software Engineer - Deep Learning Infrastructure

NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Architecture and Libraries group is seeking excellent Software Engineers to design and develop the software stack for our next generation test and development cluster, the core infrastructure that provides a foundation for every stage of our product development. Our mission, which spans both hardware and software, is to consistently deliver the world’s fastest deep learning technology stack for applications ranging from autonomous vehicles to training enormous models on supercomputers. What you'll be doing:

1. Architect, develop, and maintain Python-based software and services to efficiently run a state-of-the-art multi-tenant Linux cluster including embedded, desktop, and server systems
2. Work with industry standard tools (Slurm, Ansible, Gitlab, Kubernetes, Artifactory, Jira)
3. Automate away recurring tasks while employing and advancing best-practices
4. Support users doing development, functional testing, and performance testing on current and pre-production GPU systems
5. Tackle the challenges that arise with running the latest hardware in a cluster
6. Work with various teams at NVIDIA to incorporate and influence the latest tools for operating GPU clusters
7. Collaborate with users and system administrators to seek out ways to improve UX and operational efficiency

What we need to see:

1. BS or higher degree in computer science or equivalent experience
2. 5+ years of relevant experience
3. Adept programming skills in multiple languages including Python
4. In-depth experience with distributed systems and cluster management stacks (logging, monitoring, scheduling, etc.)
5. Hands-on experience with continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g. GitlabCI)
6. Outstanding ability to understand users, prioritize among many contending requests, and build consensus
7. Passion for “it just works” automation, eliminating repetitive tasks, and enabling team members

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

1. Deep understanding of Linux system administration and container technologies
2. Experience automating operations for bare-metal clusters as well as background with GPU computing systems
3. Experience with mobile/embedded platforms and multiple operating systems
4. Track record of identifying useful new technologies or methods and incorporating them into SW development flows
5. Experience as an active contributor to a SW project involving many developers or as a maintainer of open-source software

The base salary range is $128,000 - $247,250. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
