Synerfac is seeking a CNC Turret Punch Press Set-up Operator for our client in Newport News, VA. Our client is a leader in custom precision Sheetmetal manufacturing on the East Coast.
Responsibilities:
- Produce sheet metal parts by setting up and operating a CNC Punch Press
- Perform machine setup including program retrieval and tooling setup
- Start up and shut down machine
- Basic preventive maintenance and cleaning of machine and work areas
- Working with maintenance and repair technicians to diagnose equipment problems as needed
- Continuously monitor machine cutting performance and efficiency and make adjustments as needed
Read material tags & work orders, selecting correct materials
- Produce the maximum number of parts in minimum time by working efficiently
- Perform multiple setups per shift, for short runs and longer production runs
- Knowledge of turret punch press tooling, how to change & maintain
- Work from blueprints, rough sketches, and customer samples for prototype production
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of CNC Turret Punch Press experience
- Proficiency checking accuracy of work using blueprint and precision measuring tools such as calipers
Experience with material loading automation
- Must be able to edit G code
- Be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
