Overall Purpose: As a CNC Machinist (Swiss), you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines and ensuring the production of top-quality products. Your expertise will help us optimize workflow and achieve our business goals efficiently.
Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes:
- Read part blueprints and documentation to understand machining parameters and programs.
- Determine machining processes from print to part.
- Select, align, and secure work holding, cutting tools, and materials on CNC Swiss machines.
- Operate machines by loading and unloading parts, adjusting settings, and monitoring processes.
- Maintain specifications by observing operations, troubleshooting processes, and replacing worn tools.
- Verify finished work-piece conformance to specifications using measurement tools.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Document production and quality logs, and collaborate with engineers to resolve machining problems.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years in manufacturing and Swiss CNC machining is A MUST
- Functional Skills: Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, familiarity with CNC machining principles, ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints, and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Proficient at Star, Spring, or Tsugami CNC machines (preferred).
- Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Leadership/Behaviors: Solid collaboration skills, openness to new ideas, positive attitude, flexibility, versatility.
- Culture Match Behaviors: Respectful, honest, accountable, good listener, agile, optimistic.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for travel.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, sit at a desk, operate a keyboard and computer screen, communicate effectively, and perform various physical tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. sporadically.
