What You Can Expect

As our Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a diverse team of engineers to execute large-scale construction projects from inception to operation for a diverse portfolio of technology in the energy sector. The Engineering team is critical in supporting the delivery of large capital projects safely, on budget, and on time, within the Energy Solutions North America business unit.

This position requires a strategic leader who can lead the development and construction of complex installations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and mitigate risks during the life of a project. This person will be accountable for the team that is responsible for all aspects of design for energy systems encompassing the production and distribution of electricity, chilled water, heating hot water, and steam, along with the distribution of natural gas. This role will also lead the deployment of management systems, procedures, processes, and templates to streamline and industrialize the implementation of projects across the division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interface with the business development team for projects or acquisitions.
  • Liaise with members of the Local Capital Projects Team for existing partnerships.
  • Report to the Vice President of Major Projects & IPOS.


What You'll Bring
  • You possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • You have a minimum of 10 years' experience in an engineering role related to utility or power infrastructure projects, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
  • You have experience leading and managing an engineering team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • You will create and maintain engineering standards for all disciplines including but not limited to electrical, instrumentation and controls, mechanical.
  • You will advise business development teams during early-stage opportunity development processes.
  • You will assist in the development of contracts by drafting the scope of work and technical exhibits.
  • You will establish and enforce quality control for all engineering deliverables.
  • You have experience developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for monitoring engineering status, compliance, and performance.
  • You will create an Engineering Community to enhance skills and knowledge sharing.
  • You will act as a center of excellence in developing innovative solutions and implementing best practices.
  • You will champion a culture of collaboration by engaging with other Global Business Units.

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy.
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.

Compensation
Salary Range: $146,300 - $224,135 USD annually.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary based on geography, experience, education, and other factors. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan.
