Position is responsible for programming and updating programs for the CNC Milling Department, may also help or support personal setting up jobs and machining parts.

Position is responsible for programming and updating programs for the CNC Milling Department, may also help or support personal setting up jobs and machining parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to read prints, perform complex dimensional calculations and understand and be able to read geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
- Can determine tool wear and perform tool changes as well as calculate tool offsets. Typically has to maintain dimensional tolerances less than or equal to +/- .001.
- Must be able to use all standard measurement tools to determine part quality.
- Must be able to calculate slopes and angles and perform complex inspection setups.
- Performs simple setups with assistance for jobs with single or multiple operations having tolerances greater than +/- .001.
- Operator will load, unload, and inspect parts.
- Operator will maintain accurate part counts, update router paperwork, segregate parts as required and fill out SPC documentation.
- Operator will be responsible for quality of the parts being produced and for achieving production standards.
- Position will require de-burring and polishing parts at the machine on some work.
- Operator to report any equipment problems.
- Must understand and follow documented operator and set-up procedures.
- Responsible for machine and area housekeeping including cleaning the machine, removing chips from the machine, moving material and parts as necessary.
- Standards for efficiency should exceed 100%. Scrap rates should be under 1%.
- Can, without supervision during a work period setup job with parts made from aluminum, stainless steel, and other exotic materials. ( Parts are highly complex and can include many angled, surfaces, pockets, steps tapers and related features on different planes. Parts will usually require more than one operation and loading schemes will be very complex.)

- Ability to read and understand drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerances
- Use of precision measurement tools
- Able to maintain accurate part counts
- Knowledge of tooling and inserts
- Ability to determine tool wear, dull and broken tools and to change tools
- Ability to calculate tool offsets
- Ability to maintain close tolerances
- Knowledge of Math including algebra and geometry
- Basic program knowledge
- 1+ years setup experience
- Tool setup and tool maintenance knowledge
- Machine Shop training classes
- Safety knowledge
- Previous experience in a company with ISO implementation
- Ability to do SPC control
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Machine shop training certificate preferred.
- 4+ years of machine shop programming experience on any manual or CNC milling equipment
- 5 or more years of machine shop experience with pertinent CNC milling experience
Work Environment:

- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull and grasp.

- Required to have visual acuity to perform assigned tasks.
- Ability to talk on phone and use computer for extended periods of time may be required.
- May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computer etc.
