Job Requirements / Description

The Software Engineer II will be responsible for designing, developing and supporting OSIS software products and in-house applications. Job activities include full-stack application development, unit testing, build and release management, application updates and troubleshooting issues, and database development (stored procedures, SQL queries, and views).


Essential Job Functions

  • Takes a disciplined approach to designing, developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting current and new .Net applications, following software engineering best practices.
  • Effectively tests code through unit test development and execution.
  • Proactively explores methods and tools to improve and enhance software.
  • Creates and updates documentation for installations, upgrades, and other related peripheral programs and activities.
  • Assists with QA testing, developing, and executing test cases.
  • Receives escalated tickets; resolves or escalates tickets based on customer need and application issues; communicates tasks that need to be completed to resolve customer issues with other internal resources as needed.
  • Maintains up-to-date and accurate ticket status and documentation for projects and escalated tickets.

Required Education And Experience

  • BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience developing Microsoft .Net-based MVC applications, C#, ASP.Net Core.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience with JavaScript & TypeScript, with strict adherence to best practices.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum as well as the full SDLC.

Preferred Experience

  • Prefer 3+ years of experience with the following:
  • Visual Studio, VSCode, C#, NuGet.
  • Angular, JSON, JQuery.
  • LINQ and Entity Framework or other ORMs.
  • SOAP and RESTful Services.
  • MS SQL Server, TSQL, Views, Stored Procedures.
  • Azure DevOps, Git.
  • Continuous Integration/Build Automation.
  • Experience in the Healthcare domain a plus.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Position Expected Hours Of Work

This is a full-time remote position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

This position is considered a remote position with full telecommuting privileges. You must have the following:

  • Cable or Fiber Internet Service.
  • Download speed of 20Mbps or higher.
  • Upload speed of 5Mbps or higher.
