Title: Senior Project Engineer (Hybrid Schedule Available)


Location: Pascagoula

Basic Function:

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the engineering aspects of assigned projects across various disciplines, such as mechanical, piping, electrical, and naval architecture. The role involves initializing, organizing, and monitoring engineering projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Oversees the engineering aspects of projects, ensuring integration across multiple disciplines.
  • Deadline and Budget Management: Develops and controls project timelines and budgets, ensuring timely completion within financial constraints.
  • Requirements Analysis: Ensures compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Works with engineering managers and leads to integrate project activities and technical deliverables.
  • Technical Support: Provides technical support to business development, estimating, and on-site support teams.
  • Primary Point of Contact: Acts as the main engineering liaison for customers, Program Management Office, Production, Purchasing, Outside Design Agents, and Regulatory Authorities.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, addressing project challenges effectively.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in electrical (electronic) engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in C5, including design development, analysis, and integration of C4 and Cyber systems for US Government programs. Alternatively, 12 years of C5 working experience with at least 2 years in project management.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Team Management: Ability to recognize and organize project team members into an effective and efficient team.
  • Subcontractor Management: Proven ability to manage engineering scope for major C5 and electrical subcontractors on significant US Government shipbuilding programs.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with USCG (CFR) and IMO statutory regulations (SOLAS, IBC) as well as classification requirements (ABS or DNV) is desirable.
  • Security Clearance: Must be a U.S. National with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (active Secret clearance preferred).
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, computer-assisted engineering software, and working knowledge of project management software (MS Project). Understanding of change management principles is a plus.
