Storage Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities

1. Architect, design and implement infrastructure solutions for server hosting, virtualization, storage area network, centralized back-up, security, monitoring.
2. The Storage Engineer will design/architect, configure, implement and manage storage, hardware, and cloud infrastructures for a broad range of customers.
3. The Engineer will work with a team and independently to support our clients in the public and private sectors.
4. The Engineer will perform all responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and requirements include the following:

1. Demonstrate working knowledge of Linux and Windows server operating systems with an emphasis towards storage administration and performance management.
2. Demonstrate working knowledge and management of cloud and container architectures.
3. Demonstrate an ability to perform automation scripting and familiarity with infrastructure as code.
4. Demonstrate familiarity with storage technologies.
5. Architect and deploy functional infrastructure environments for medium, large and enterprise clients.
6. Maintain complete technical documentation and project, ticket updates.
7. Monitor and manage performance, security, and integrity of client’s server and hardware infrastructure.
8. Minimum 5 Years’ Experience architecting or administering storage solutions.
9. Possess highly developed troubleshooting skills.
10. Demonstrate willingness to work within a team, provide training and collaboration with other team members.
11. On-Call rotation required.
12. Demonstrate highly developed customer service skills.

Other duties could include the following:

1. Architect, Implement, and Maintain Backup Storage Infrastructure Services for server and cloud environments.
2. Administer client cloud environments.
3. Carry out other automation projects benefitting the organization and clients.
