Database Developer (Oracle & SQL Server)

Veloz is seeking a Database Developer to work closely with development teams and stakeholders in an Agile Scrum environment. We are looking for a skilled Database Developer to design, implement, and maintain robust database solutions that support our organization's critical operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in database technologies and a proven ability to translate business requirements into efficient database structures.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, administer, maintain, and migrate Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Create and optimize database structures to efficiently store and manage data.
• Develop data models and schemas that align with business requirements.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security.
• Monitor and analyze database performance, identifying strategies to improve query response times, resource utilization, and overall database efficiency.
• Implement security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, breaches, and data loss.
• Manage database backups, recovery plans, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure database alignment with business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• U.S. Citizenship is required and must pass a background investigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; additional experience may be considered in place of degree.
• Strong expertise in SQL and database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Ability to write clear and maintainable database code.
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization.
• Certification in Oracle or SQL Server database administration.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting Government contracts.
