CMM Programmer

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking a CMM Programmer in partnership with a prominent client in Endicott, NY within the aerospace industry.
Programmer Summary
Pay: $17-$19/ hour
1st Shift: Monday - Friday; 7am to 3:30pm
Programmer Responsibilities.:
Create measurement programs for the CMM based on engineering drawings, CAD models, or specifications. Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles to select the correct measurement strategies.
Regularly calibrate the CMM and set up equipment for specific measurement tasks, including fixture design and proper alignment.
Operate CMMs to measure dimensions, geometries, and surface characteristics of machined parts, ensuring conformance to engineering drawings and quality standards.
Analyze measurement data to identify trends, deviations, and potential quality issues. Use statistical tools to interpret results and determine part acceptance or rejection.
Document measurement procedures, results, and deviations. Generate inspection reports and communicate findings to production, quality assurance teams, or customers.
Identify and resolve issues with CMM machines or measurement equipment. Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
Use Lean tools to identify and eliminate waste, such as overproduction, rework, or underutilization of resources.
Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer prior experience in quality control, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software and metrology software for CMM programming is essential. Familiarity with GD&T principles is required.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment, measurement programs, and part quality issues is critical.
• Strong attention to detail is necessary for interpreting specifications, programming measurement routines, and analyzing data accurately.
• Must be able to frequently lift 10-20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for up to 8 hours per day.
