Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:
As a Grinding Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the execution and optimization of grinding processes for semi-finished and finished Nitinol components. This role demands a high level of technical understanding of grinding equipment and applications, along with strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Component and Manufacturing Engineering teams as a technical liaison for grinding process technologies (Centerless, Thru-feed, Pointing, ECG).
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to develop processes, instructions, and maintenance plans.
- Apply technical knowledge to manufacture small diameter, tight tolerance components.
- Design and oversee robust, cost-effective grinding processes.
- Troubleshoot problems and define preventative and corrective actions.
- Establish costs for new ground products and evaluate cost implications of changes.
- Generate system documentation including prints, procedures, and work instructions.
- Present findings to customers and management as necessary.
- Maintain, repair, and upgrade grinding systems as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and external regulations (e.g., FDA).
Job Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Engineering with 5+ years of relevant grinding experience.
- Familiarity with Royal Master and Glebar Centerless Grinders and ECG grinders (Everite/Tridex).
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Solid mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Flexibility regarding priority changes.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
