Job Description
COBOL/DB2 Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing IT solutions on the AS400 platform for various project deliverables.
The candidate would participate across all areas of the Software Development Life Cycle including defect resolution, deployment, and postproduction Experience with DB2 is essential
Analyze, design, develop & implement changes to the AS400 application platform
Participate in the evaluation, build, testing, and implementation of new products and the modification of existing products

Define and propose solutions for enhancements and system changes

Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
Estimate development tasks, define work efforts and timelines and provide project status
Work with testers and business teams to triage defects and ensure changes are migrated into production correctly
Perform tasks regarding change control, incident management, and audit
Support SOX and IT Security guidelines to ensure all systems are kept in compliance
Create and update the appropriate system documentation
DB2 (IBM) architectural
An Application Architect with expertise in RDBMS on IBM System i environment specializes in designing and implementing database strategies and architectures.
They collaborate closely with Application Developers and Database Administrators to ensure seamless integration of data management and application functionality.
This role requires a strong understanding of data modeling, database optimization, and security best practices, enabling the development of efficient, scalable, and secure database systems.
