Spray-Tek, a leading provider of custom spray drying services, is seeking a talented and driven Plant Engineer to join our team in Beloit, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in mechanical engineering, strong analytical skills, and a dedication to enhancing spray drying processes and equipment.


Key Responsibilities


1. Equipment Design and Development

Design, develop, and optimize mechanical components and systems for spray drying equipment.

Conduct detailed engineering analysis and simulations to ensure equipment performance and reliability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions for process improvements.


2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Lead the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams.


3. Process Improvement

Analyze current mechanical processes to identify areas for improvement.

Implement engineering solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

Monitor and evaluate the performance of mechanical systems and recommend upgrades or modifications.


4. Project Management

Manage engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.

Prepare detailed project plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.


5. Compliance and Safety

Ensure all mechanical systems and processes comply with industry standards and regulations.

Promote a culture of safety and implement best practices to minimize risk.

Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions as necessary.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an engineering or project management role, preferably in the food, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and other engineering design tools.
  • Proficiency in RSlogix software or PLC programming software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.


Preferred Skills


  • Experience with spray drying technology and equipment.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements in the spray drying industry.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
