Sr. Mechanical Engineer, MEP / Plumbing
Miami, FL area
Salary up to $125K (willing to try someone that needs $10-15K above range)
Leading A&E firm offering stability and opportunity. Great variety of building design projects, not necessarily run of the mill cookie cutter type projects. More high end, multi-use, commercial, institutional type facilities.
Hybrid schedule: Can work remotely 2 days per week

Responsibilities:
- Will evaluate, specify, engineer and make recommendations for mechanical engineered systems with emphasis on MEP/plumbing portions of projects
- Verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards while assuring overall technical accuracy
- Involved with the development of design through sketches, models, diagrams, and other visual formats, including using BIM technologies, and markups of designers
- Leads project coordination meetings with team members and consultants, to produce, coordinate and create construction documents to specifications
- Participate in client project meetings and constructability review
- Assists PM and management with project scope, basic estimates, budget, and schedule
- Oversee and perform calculations using software, and advanced analysis techniques for specialized building mechanical elements
- Assists in the development of new standards and specifications for the mechanical department
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering
- Licensed PE (or able to sit for exam or reactive license in short time)
- 5+ years of experience
- LEED Green or LEED AP is a plus
- Knowledge of mechanical and plumbing codes, energy codes, ASHRAE standards, and other building codes
- Understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specs
- Requires understanding of AutoCAD; and Revit experience is preferred
- Prefer experience with Newforma and Trane Trace, or other analysis tools
- Able to travel up to 20%
