Our software is used to design the aerodynamics of Formula 1 cars, reusable 3D printed rockets, next generation chips and autonomous driving systems - allowing engineers to virtually explore the structural, thermal, fluids, optical and electromagnetic performance of their innovations.

The Senior Product Manager, Developer Tools is responsible for engaging with customers, field staff, and development to drive revenue influence gains from Ansys developer tools, oversee the go-to-market strategy, and generate product roadmaps that facilitate customer and partner adoption and build Ansys competitive differentiation in the market. The ideal candidate has broad knowledge of the Ansys product portfolio and common multi-physics workflows that is sufficient to educate the broader organization on the unique value of PyAnsys and APIs.

This individual will have a passion for technology, strong technical acumen, and experience with open source development processes and python. The position requires the ability to communicate and drive consensus among cross-functional groups to achieve joint goals and to manage complex roadmap dependencies across business units.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Drive product strategy, planning, marketing as well as sales support activities for the developer tools offered across the Ansys product portfolio
  2. Understand developer needs from industry research and direct customer and partner insights to define tooling requirements
  3. Create written tooling specifications and requirements
  4. Work closely with the customers and partners to evaluate and prioritize changes and enhancements
  5. Work closely with Development teams to create realistic development plans and schedules
  6. Identify and drive developer experience initiatives, covering Open API standards, documentation, sample code, SDKs and tools
  7. Establish standards for APIs and developer tools published by Ansys to create consistency and compatibility across the product portfolio as well as ensure backward compatibility of developed applications
  8. Focus on go-to-market activities aimed at helping to achieve strategic revenue impact and adoption objectives
  9. Work closely with technical ACE (ANSYS Customer Excellence) teams to gain product feedback and assess competitive threats
  10. Maintain close relationships with customers to remain aware of their needs and perspectives
  11. Participate in producing technical white papers, application notes, tooling positioning presentations, and webinars as part of the GTM strategy
  12. Engage and facilitate solutions in any Pre-Sales situations as appropriate
  13. Function as a specialist/expert during customer visits and technical events as appropriate
  14. Provide quality assurance testing and feedback on new features and workflows as necessary
  15. Provide training to Customer Excellence and Account Teams as necessary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an Engineering field with 5 years of combined experience in engineering, computer aided engineering (CAE) simulations, pre-sales support, sales, or customer engagement, or a Masters with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 1 year of experience
  2. Ability to manage complex projects
  3. Experience and understanding of the full end-to-end simulation process from geometry to solution post-processing
  4. Awareness of industry trends towards automation and democratization, requiring workflows that are fast, accurate, and easy-to-use
  5. Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to communicate business value of technical innovations
  6. Able to travel while remaining productive and professional on the road
  7. Able to work irregular hours and some weekends to support events and in accommodation of international audiences

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Advanced degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years of combined experience in engineering, CAE simulations, or technical sales
  2. 3+ years experience with Ansys flagship products in the Structural, Electronics, and/or Fluids product lines
  3. Prior experience in a product management role
  4. Able to demonstrate solid programming abilities in one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, .NET, C++
