Organization Overview:

Plant Engineering in Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing is responsible for maintaining the site’s facility infrastructure including buildings, HVAC, UAF Hoods, GMP utilities, steam, water, sewer and other utility systems to a state of compliance. It must assure that facilities and related infrastructure are fit for use when needed, maintenance and reliability techniques are efficient and effective, and appropriate corrective and improvement actions are taken when necessary. Plant Engineering is also responsible for the efficient and effective management of local capital for their assets and oversight of engineering/maintenance contract resources.

The Team Leader in Plant Engineering is responsible for the technical and administrative leadership of individuals that make up a cross-functional team consisting of Engineers and Engineer Sr. Specialists and Facility Coordinators. The scope of work consists of the IPM Plant Site at LTC-South that includes the parenteral facilities for manufacturing, laboratories, warehouses, and administrative areas.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  1. Lead and manage resources effectively.
  2. Ensure team is compliant & trained on programs, procedures, policies, etc. and oversee team’s learning plans (LP).
  3. Lead Monthly Safety Communications with Staff and participate in Safety Audits.
  4. Lead Process Teams for designated area and systems.
  5. Lead the Performance Management initiatives for team.
  6. Support and drive development plans and career path development for employees.
  7. Ensure team is aligned and working towards goals & objectives (site and team).
  8. Recruit & fill staffing needs for the team.
  9. Provide Engineering direction for projects & design needs.
  10. Engage in regulatory and internal audit support.
  11. Ensure proper housekeeping of responsible areas are maintained.
  12. Own incident reporting, investigating, and corrective measures.
  13. Operate in a continuous state of compliance, as well as look to become more effective and efficient with our processes.
  14. Follow and ensure compliance of standards (GQS, Global Engineering, etc.).
  15. Ensure appropriate RTS requirements are met.
  16. Maintain high level of coordination (0 overdue PMs, TrackWise TRs, etc.).
  17. Manage the Hold and Countermeasure Backlog for HVAC and Utilities.
  18. Through effective resource utilization and continuous improvement, reduce losses; improve equipment/system reliability, and lower costs.
  19. Establish and maintain metrics, as appropriate.
  20. Support Manufacturing and avoid product losses.
  21. Explore and implement deviation reduction opportunities.
  22. Develop local processes and procedures in accordance with the FUME system and ensure requirements are being met.
  23. Assure an adequate number of qualified resources to perform asset management processes.
  24. Provide oversight of expense and capital spend (forecasting for future and present needs) including oversight of building collectors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years manufacturing-related experience in manufacturing facility.

  • Parenteral manufacturing experience.
  • Plant engineering experience.
  • Previous leadership / supervisory experience desired (i.e. experience in leading, coaching, and motivation of people).

Additional Information:

  • Standard business hours (days, M-F) with after-hour support and shutdown support as needed.
  • Minimal travel required.
  • Applicant will work in various areas within Indianapolis Parenteral where allergens may be present. Mobility requirements and exposure to allergens should be considered when applying for this position.
