Job Description

  1. Assist operating clients in creating their mooring integrity management plans and defining inspection scopes.
  2. Develop inspection work packs tailored to mooring configurations, integrity management plans, and past inspection records. Maintain a library of standardized inspection methods for inclusion in work packs.
  3. Review incoming inspection data and manage a mooring inspection database.
  4. Conduct thorough assessments of mooring system conditions based on inspection and monitoring data. Evaluate component conditions and overall system performance.
  5. Acquire and maintain knowledge of degradation modes and integrity issues related to mooring systems and components, along with detection and characterization methods.
  6. Collaborate closely with the mooring team, providing feedback from operational lessons learned to enhance mooring design practices.
  7. Stay informed about subsea inspection techniques and tools, engaging with suppliers and service providers regarding new developments and best practices.
  8. Develop digital routines (algorithms) for routine assessment tasks using Python, MATLAB, or similar coding languages.
  9. Specify and assist in the development of mooring monitoring systems throughout project execution in EPC phases (engineering through procurement), ensuring implementation on floating facilities supplied by the company.
  10. Identify and resolve problems effectively, researching and developing technical solutions to meet business needs.
  11. Present options and recommendations to stakeholders, challenging them as necessary to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Skills Required

  1. 1-4 years of hands-on experience in offshore, marine, pipeline, or a related field in one or more of the following roles:
  2. Engineering
  3. Operations support
  4. Asset and integrity management
  5. Data analytics
  6. Inspection, monitoring, and condition assessments
  7. Marine or subsea construction or operations
  8. Familiarity with industry codes and standards, such as ABS, DNV, API, ISO, etc.
  9. Digitally savvy: Skills in data cleaning, evaluation, database administration, Python coding, and data visualization are preferred.
  10. Knowledge of mooring systems and components.
  11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with effective English communication across functions.
  12. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  13. Ideally skilled in programming languages such as MATLAB or Python.
  14. Experience with mooring analysis software like OrcaFlex is a plus.

Education/Training/Certifications

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Process, Ocean, Marine, etc.).
