AECOM is seeking a Deputy Assistant Director of Engineering to be based in Sacramento, CA.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Manager / Deputy Assistant Director of Engineering will be working on one of AECOM's major infrastructure programs. They are responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Engineering (Engineering Task Lead) for the program ensuring consistency related to design, and engineering, providing recommendations on complex issues, cost estimation, and construction support.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure client engineering documents, standards, and technical requirements are consistent and coordinate with other functional support groups as it relates to said documents.
- Provide recommendations on complex issues, cost estimation, and construction support.
- Assist with the development, recommendation, and implementation of policies, as applicable, in relation to engineering management, engineering standards, technical requirements, infrastructure development, system development, design, and construction support including change management.
- Assisting with engineering activities necessary to support planning, development, procurement, design, and construction of large infrastructure capital projects.
- Support the Assistant Director of Engineering on the engineering activities of preliminary engineering, alternative technical concepts, design, and design variances.
- Support verifying that designs are compliant with the client’s engineering requirements.
- Support the Assistant Director of Engineering with interface coordination between both engineering and other functions groups such as Civil, Track & System, O&M, and assistance with implementing third-party requirements.
- Supporting Authority executives on strategic matters to ensure timely and effective decision-making in relation to engineering matters.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
15+ years of engineering management experience in complex major projects, in particular, transit and railway.
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
California Registered Professional Engineer.
Extensive experience in value engineering and configuration change management.
Advanced understanding of engineering management, development of engineering documents, and interdisciplinary coordination.
Experience in high-speed rail projects or similar projects.
Engineering management experience in complex and large-scale rail projects or programs from planning through preliminary engineering, detail design, construction support, and coordination with system and O&M.
Experience in senior roles in complex major projects or programs.
Familiar with track and railway systems, requirement management, and O&M.
Good engineering management skills in all civil works including railway alignment, earthworks, roads, bridges, drainages, seismic design, and track structures related to railway projects.
Additional Information
Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $141,243.45 - $261,300.29.
