NASA's Project Luna is dedicated to building cloud-native solutions that directly support the advancement of human spaceflight and science missions. Working as a Frontend Engineer on the Luna Core team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering Web Applications in support of the wide landscape of NASA's missions. This opportunity can be fully remote with occasional travel to NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX and Goddard Spaceflight Center in Greenbelt, MD; but living close to one of those NASA centers is a plus.

MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting remote opportunity for a Frontend Enginee r. We are looking for individuals with creative ideas, diverse backgrounds, and a passion for human space exploration and science to join us as we take on this challenge.

As a Frontend Engineer , you will:

  • Develop new HTML/CSS/JavaScript applications designed to integrate with an ever-growing ecosystem of backend API services.
  • Create core web-based user experiences to support mission engineering and science users.
  • Write quality code and provide quality and engaged code reviews for peers
  • Design an always improving and growing set of web application interfaces and functions
  • Utilize responsive web design to target any interface.
  • Develop best practices for web application development and promoting them within the organization
  • Work directly with NASA human spaceflight missions like Orion, Lunar Gateway, Mission Control and more.

Qualifications & Preferences:

  • Extensive experience with either Vue.js or AngularJS.
  • Experience with Typescript
  • Experience working with SASS/CSS
  • Experience working with a UI component framework (preferably Google Material Design)
  • Solution-oriented mindset, accepts feedback with enthusiasm
  • Effectively communicates with team members: clear status updates to direct report, regularly establishes unanimous decisions with peers
  • Ability to thrive in a fully remote organization
  • Self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to use GitLab (preferably very proficient)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of work experience required.
  • NASA Experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to interact professionally with various levels of employees and the public.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.

Due to the nature of the NASA work, candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
