Nodal seeks talented and motivated applicants for the following hybrid role in Tysons Corner, VA (Washington, DC Metro area).
Key Responsibilities
Manager, Pipeline Engineering Key Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of "Developer Experience" at the company and ensure each software developer has the requisite tools and support to perform their duties
  • Lead technology projects and a team of devops engineers with deep experience in distributed microservices
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies
  • Participate in internal/cross-team technology discussions, mentoring employees
  • Improve the state of Container Orchestration services including the use of Docker and Kubernetes
  • Work with Configuration Management tools including Ansible and Terraform, and evaluate solutions in AWS
  • Create KPIs for management to tell the story of how the team is doing at a given point in time and to extrapolate insights as to where the team's efforts are best spent
  • Participate in code-reviews and change approvals for the Pipeline team
  • Serve as an on-call escalation point for critical Production issues
  • Maintain good relationships with Software Development teams and assist them with tooling
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 8 years of experience in DevOps Engineering
  • At least 4 years of experience with orchestration using either Cloud technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) or on-premise technologies (VMWare)
  • At least 6 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in people management
  • Solid grasp of Python scripting
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts
  • Independent, organized, and structured
  • Experience in Scrum methodology and Agile practices
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • 2+ years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines
  • 2+ years of experience working with Observability tools
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
Preferred: (Optional)
  • Experience with DevSecOps to an organization and integrating Checkmarx into the build pipeline
  • Experience as a software developer and ability to understand and resolve pain points for developers
  • Hands-on experience implementing processes or tooling to improve observability of various software states in Production

Salary Range: $160,000 - $190,000 per year base salary, when annualized
Pay Transparency Notice: The salary range is based on the D.C. metro area, the successful candidate's starting salary will vary depending on permissible, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, and experience.
