Product Development Project Engineer II

We are seeking a Product Development Project Engineer II to join our team at G&W Electric, a global leader in engineered electrical power grid solutions. In this role, you will support product realization through cross-functional team collaboration, assist with project management, and contribute to the development of innovative technologies for medium voltage switchgear. If you have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and over 3 years of progressive experience in engineering design and development, we encourage you to apply!

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete assigned tasks and assist with project coordination
• Assist in the development of project schedules and budgets
• Support the completion of Product Realization Stage Gate Requirements
• Manage system-level design requirements and perform engineering analysis for new products and subcomponents
• Construct and test prototype components or assemblies
• Interface with purchasing and vendors for component part selection and approval
• Provide engineering support to sales, marketing, and manufacturing
• Participate in the review and approval of engineering drawings
• Ensure selected parts and processes meet project and company goals for cost efficiency and reliability

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in engineering design and/or development
• Proficiency in 3D parametric modeling and working on highly technical projects
• Technical knowledge in motor operators, current and voltage sensing, impact of grounding and voltage surges, and power systems
• Ability to use small hand and power tools, write technical documents, and read and interpret technical standards

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DFMEA strongly preferred
• Proficiency in ProE/Creo and Finite Element analysis is a plus
• Experience with medium/high voltage electrical power systems
