About the Role

The Network Engineer role is key to ensuring that Talogy network solutions are robust, secure and well designed. This role involves taking ownership of all Talogy’s data traffic and throughput systems, in order to provide secure and stable business operations and communications.

This Network Engineer ensures appropriate security and encryption methods are configured and maintained at all time to protect the integrity of Talogy and client data during transit. The role also requires proactively monitoring network and internet connectivity and rapidly investigating to resolution any issues or flaws encountered, in order to prevent or minimize disruption to the business operations of Talogy or its clients.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and operate large, complex network infrastructure for Talogy’s global business, including both cloud and on-premise solutions
  • Delivering solutions in a timely manner in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues rapidly to ensure maximum uptime across all locations.
  • Providing input into the company’s network strategy for the direction and implementation of future network technology and network-related technical standards.
  • Performing complex analysis of hardware and software configurations to ensure audit and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively monitoring network and internet connectivity.
  • Investigating and recommending cost-effective solutions to increase resiliency and redundancy.
  • Reviewing long term trends, identify future capacity or performance issues and recommend and take appropriate preventative action.
  • Ensuring that all network equipment is kept up to date with firmware releases and patches.
  • Taking a leading role in the setup and configuration of network equipment for new locations.
  • Ensuring that all network changes go through a rigorous testing and change control process.
  • Ensuring that all network documentation is kept up to date and supply new documentation where none exists.
  • Conduct technical research, perform vendor comparisons, and analyze cost requirements to provide business recommendations.



Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years IT Network Experience
  • CCNA / CCNP qualified.
  • Experience of proactively maintaining a complex, multi-site network.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco Nexus Switches, Cisco routers/switches, Cisco ASA
  • firewalls, Cisco VPN
  • A thorough understanding of VLANs, Ipsec tunnels and other LAN topologies
  • Experience with CIS Hardening Standards and/or DISA STIGs
  • Experience of implementation of new systems and solutions.
  • Good oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation and correspondence and present complex information in an easy to read format.

  • The job may require occasional travel to remote sites within the US.
  • Some activities may require evening or weekend work to be undertaken in support of the IT network.
  • Must be able to obtain US federal and UK security clearance.
  • Core hours for this role are 08:00 to 17:00 from Monday to Friday, with one hour per day given for a lunch break. This is a full-time, permanent and remote role, ideally based in the Indianapolis / Chicago area.
