Director II Business Solution Engineer
Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). Ideal candidates must live within 50 miles of a PulsePoint location.
The Director II Business Solution Engineer oversees the execution strategies of digital and AI transformation. This role serves as a leader across departmental lines to further the penetration of operational digitization, E2E efficiencies, lowered administrative costs, and an excellent member, provider, and employee experience. The director enables the effective achievement of digital operations and business solutions organizational objectives.
How you will make an impact:
- Participate with peers and digital operations leadership to deliver on strategic plans and objectives.
- Lead overall strategic work streams for transformational priorities, requiring significant accountability and management of numerous special projects.
- Plan, direct, and control the resources and efforts of unit(s) within a blended Digital Operations and Business Solutions organization.
- Responsible & accountable for the implementation/management of digitization and AI transformation initiatives, demonstrating an understanding of the current and future operational business processes that digitization and AI can enable.
- Partner with operational leaders and IT to establish a pipeline of high-impact areas of transformation opportunities.
- Evaluate the feasibility of opportunities and develop data-driven business cases that support investment.
- Prioritize a portfolio of transformation opportunities based on the needs of the organization and impact on customers.
- Oversee the business-led activities of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, test cases and success criteria, user acceptance testing, and overall sign-off on solutions.
- Ensure all business deployment activities are completed including documentation, training, change communication, backout plans, and control plans.
- Obtain resources (people, funding, material support) to accomplish objectives within units of responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversee strategic planning, budget development, and management for a single large or multiple cost centers, contract compliance, and any necessary integration of government regulatory requirements.
- Manage an enterprise suite of applications by developing digitization forecasts and delivery plans.
- Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans are implemented, monitored, and updated on a recurring basis.
- Deliver operational guidance and offer system solutions that support the operations of their functional areas on a 24x7x365 basis.
- Plan and execute annual projects while maintaining profit and loss (P&L) responsibility.
- Track value realization and sign-off from business on value and outcomes promised by solutions.
- Monitor the performance of all deployed transformation efforts and ensure solutions are continuously updated and optimized.
- Optimize and maintain AI and digital solutions, including the development and testing of new features that improve the overall accuracy of predictive models, prompt tuning, LLMs engineering, and developing mitigation approaches to RPA fallout.
- Hire, train, coach, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.
- Provide leadership in motivating subordinates to accomplish the Digital Ops and Business Solutions organization goals and objectives.
- Develop a strong team through training and effective organizational development practices.
- Implement the policies, practices, and procedures of the company and blended digital and operations organizations.
- Manage the direction of information system and programming activities of technical staff.
- Leverage reporting and analytics tools to continuously monitor procedures and operational metrics to ensure these are met by staff.
- Manage a geographically diverse team of associates and vendor partners.
- Fiscal responsibility for unit budget.
- Build strong partnerships with market and digital leads, benefits administration, provider engagement and contracting, sales, and internal audit.
- Effectively adjust communications depending upon audience; translate technical and/or business issues in non-technical/non-jargon terms to non-technical or executive audiences.
- Effectively consult, facilitate, negotiate, and persuade.
- Effectively interface with external contacts, e.g., customers and agencies.
- Negotiate the resolution of intra-organizational issues in the balanced best interests of the business.
- The position requires significant and regular external contact with customers or agencies.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study and a minimum of 8 years experience leading technology (application development, configuration, maintenance or implementation and support) teams and/or cross-functional project (technology and operations) teams; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. Requires 7 years' management experience.

- Health insurance industry experience is strongly preferred.
