INVISTA is looking to hire an Instrument & Electrical Reliability Engineer at our Victoria, TX plant.
The responsibilities of this role will include support and ownership of site-wide instrument integrity, reliability, and overall instrument health through the evaluation and application of best practices.
What You Will Do
- Provide tactical and strategic engineering support to operations, turnaround, maintenance, and project groups with run-plant and improve-plant activities.
- Electrical Engineer a wide range of instruments, and systems such as controls, PLC, DCS, analyzers, transducers, and wireless applications (Flow, Pressure, Temperature, Valves) using reliability tools and industry best practices.
- Develop strategies and implement plans for Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Instrumentation and Control Systems.
- Upgrade instrumentation, sensors, and valves using smart monitoring tools and technology.
- Facilitate industry leading engineering programs, i.e., SIS, Safety Managers, IPL, SIF, Critical Alarms, Interlocks, and Management Systems.
- Support management of the change process as well as develop technical documentation.
- Work with project managers, design contractors, and vendors to develop scopes of work and detailed engineering designs for repairs and improvement projects.
- Facilitate the diagnosis and resolution of chronic causes of instrument failures and implement corrective action using effective diagnostic tools and root cause analysis.
- Manage reliability performance and publish metrics on asset reliability to facilitate comprehensive site infrastructure reliability.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Related Discipline.
- Experience working in a Chemical, Refining or PSM covered facility.
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code, PIP, NFPA-70E, API, IEEE, and all OSHA electrical compliance standards.
- Experience in instrument mechanical integrity programs.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, troubleshooting and projects.
