Job Requirements / Description

Oversee media services in regard to live AVL production for all regular and special events including audio, video, and lighting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the production of Media Ministry aspects pertaining to Sunday morning worship services, Wednesday night services, and special events and projects in accordance with the Director of Media.
  • Coordinate the production for audio, video, and lighting for approved special guests using OCBF facilities.
  • Maintain all audio, video, and lighting equipment while ensuring the equipment is in good working order.
  • Supervise all volunteers, casual employees, and contractors during live services and events in accordance with the direction of the Director of Media.
  • Provide quality control of production processes including monitoring and improving the technical quality of our services, sound checks, the speed of delivery, and the interaction between staff and leadership.
  • Troubleshoot and repair broadcast equipment to component level and issues related to overall systems.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve logistic/execution issues with the production/worship team.
  • Lead and serve in all production-related areas (lights, video, projection, etc.) as needed.
  • Install new audio, video, and lighting and distribution equipment across campus.
  • Create and optimize streaming video files.
  • Provide technical expertise on streaming media requirements to network.
  • Document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, upgrade, and removal.
  • Maintain accurate and current inventory of all multimedia equipment.
  • Schedule volunteers, casual employees, and contractors (with Director’s approval) well in advance for regular services and special events requiring media teams.
  • Attend and lead meetings and rehearsals as necessary to prepare for production.
  • Recruit and train all volunteers, casual employees, and contractors regularly to ensure the highest level of quality is achieved.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of network level standards/practices, distribution practices, and related TV broadcast technologies.
  • Keep abreast of current audio, video, and lighting industry trends, new technologies, and standards and make recommendations accordingly.

Education and/or Experience

  • Knowledgeable of audio mixing, acoustics, and processing systems.
  • Knowledgeable of production switchers, video servers, and storage technologies.
  • Knowledgeable of media equipment and signal routing.
  • Knowledgeable of digital and analog audio and lighting consoles (Grand MA and DMX).
  • Knowledgeable of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite software, presentation and graphics/CG.
  • Knowledgeable of instrument and vocal microphone techniques.
  • Knowledgeable of intelligent and theatrical fixtures and technical rider fulfillment.
  • Ability to recruit and train volunteers and staff.
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must have great communication skills.
  • Ability to execute live video and camera production.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to utilize the catwalk and endure heights while working with media equipment.
  • Ability to be alert and give continuous mental/visual demand.
  • Ability to work in repetition.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
