Cybersecurity Software Engineer Job Description:

1. Plan, implement and upgrade security measures and controls
2. Establish plans and protocols to protect digital files and information systems against unauthorized access, modification and/or destruction
3. Maintain data and monitor security access
4. Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments
5. Conduct internal and external security audits
6. Write custom code and build Cybersecurity solutions/applications
7. Anticipate security alerts, incidents and disasters and reduce their likelihood
8. Manage network, intrusion detection and prevention systems
9. Analyze security breaches to determine their root cause
10. Recommend and install appropriate tools and countermeasures
11. Define, implement and maintain corporate security policies
12. Train fellow employees in security awareness and procedures
13. Coordinate security plans with outside vendors

Cybersecurity Software Engineer Skills and Qualifications:

1. 5-7 years experience
2. C, C++, C#, Java or PHP programming languages
3. IDS/IPS, penetration and vulnerability testing
4. DLP, anti-virus and anti-malware
5. TCP/IP, computer networking, routing and switching
6. Firewall and intrusion detection/prevention protocols
7. Windows, UNIX and Linux operating systems
8. Network protocols and packet analysis tools
9. Cloud computing
10. SaaS models
11. Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) & SOC (Security Operations Center)

Education:

1. Major (Bachelor of Science) in Computer Science, Engineering and/or related fields
