Agility Partners is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a Lead Scala Developer position with a Fortune 500 client in the food services industry. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting a home-grown tool that calculates opportunities, specifically focusing on the financial impact analysis of proposed alternative items. While the tool is currently built in Scala/Spark, we are planning to transition it to Python and Snowflake in the long term. As a Lead Scala Developer, you will primarily contribute to build work and provide support for the tool's operations. You will collaborate closely with a team of 10-15 individuals dedicated to this project, within a SAFe Agile framework.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of 10+ developers focused on supporting and enhancing the opportunity calculation tool.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Drive standards and best practices within the Scala development environment.
• Develop and maintain codebase in Scala/Spark, ensuring high quality and performance.
• Participate in design and architecture discussions to optimize the tool's performance and scalability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Contribute to the transition of the tool from Scala/Spark to Python and Snowflake.
• Perform run support duties, troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth operation of the tool.

The Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading a team of developers
• Strong proficiency in Scala and Spark, with the ability to drive standards and best practices.
• Experience with Python and Snowflake is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining complex software applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe, is a plus.
